About Us
Larkwood Aussies & Dairy Goats, owned by Jennifer & Matt Green, is located just over an hour west of Indianapolis, IN and just under an hour northeast of Terre Haute.
Jennifer grew up on a farm, and was a 10 year 4-H member. She exhibited sheep, cattle, rabbits, dogs & cats during her tenure. After High School, Jennifer started exhibiting Collies at AKC shows and eventually started breeding for a few years. Her most notable Collie was Natalie, CH Overland Signature Design RN HIC, 2005 KEM Memorial Sweepstakes winner. She was owner/handled to the prestigious KEM sweepstakes win, and quickly finished her championship. Due to health issues, she was never bred.
In 2010, a few years after a "break" with the Collies, Matt & Jennifer chose the Australian Shepherd to exhibit and later breed. Jennifer travels the country showing, while Matt takes care of everyone else back home. In addition to the Aussies, we have a 55 acre family farm where we raise Nubian & Recorded Grade Dairy Goats. Matt was also a 10 year 4-H member, and exhibited goats for 9 of those years. Before the Aussies, we would attend several open dairy goat shows in the summer, but time doesn't allow for that currently.
We still enjoy selling to current 4-H'ers, mentoring them, and assisting with the local 4-H goat club.
Our Aussies:
Timber was our first, and he was originally purchased with the thought of just competing in performance. However, he matured very well, so we took him out and he quickly finished his ASCA Altered Championship. He was ranked as the #18 Altered Dog with 3 months of showing for the 2013-2014 year, and the #13 Altered Dog with 6 months of showing for the 2014-2015 year. At the 2014 ASCA Nationals, he won an Altered Premier. At the 2017 ASCA Nationals he picked up three Altered Premiers in the Pre-Shows and an additional one at Nationals, as well as placing well in the 7-10 Veterans classes.
Morgan was the addition that was our entry back into the conformation showing and breeding world. She's always been Jennifer's heart dog and has a wonderful temperament. Morgan was 3rd place in the Am-Bred class at the first Pre-Show at the 2014 ASCA Nationals. She gave us a beautiful first litter in 2015, and then went on to finish her Altered Championship and end up ranked #18 for the 2016-2017 ASCA year. She was Jennifer's first obedience partner.
Bristol came to us after the 2014 ASCA Nationals. She is our always happy girl! She finished her ASCA Championship, and then started her motherly duties! She gave us a wonderful litter in 2018. We hope to have more puppies from her before she retires from motherhood and starts some performance training.
Meredith is our first bred-by from our 2015 litter with Morgan. While showing in conformation is not something she enjoys, she did finish her Championship (and is now retired from conformation unless she changes her mind!). She easily earned her rally novice title and is training for some obedience as well. She is incredibly smart, but very loyal to Jennifer.
Olivia is our Bristol daughter that was born in 2018 that has her daddy's looks and her momma's attitude! She is always happy, but wants to be in charge. She traveled to Colorado at 5 mths old with her sire's owner/dam's breeder for the 2018 ASCA Nationals. The puppy classes were huge! She made the cut in the 2nd Pre-Show and placed 4th at the Nationals! We can't wait to see what this little girl can do in the future!
